Four ways to craft authentic event content

Event content isn't an add on or after thought anymore, but it could be working harder.

This is the view of Sledge's Head of Film & Content, Ben Heaysman, who finds when it comes to content, many experiences are falling short on the authenticity piece, resulting in missed opportunities for brands and organisations.

Content can feel too corporate – such as in the form of stuffy opening videos or stock-heavy hype reels – and it lacks a story that truly resonates with attendees pre-, during and post-event.

Ben has shared his thoughts on the topic with StandOut Magazine, and shares advice for producing event content that truly connects. These include:

  • Developing a story-led strategy, which features genuine human experiences, to relatable scenarios.
  • Avoiding overly polished pieces, and techniques to embrace to achieve this for enhanced audience relatability and responsiveness.
  • Looking to AI in considered, instead of "for the sake of it" ways.
